25: Raymond Shaw (Lawrence Harvey) shoots his innocent fellow soldier in the face at point blank range, the nightmare/recollection of this act is shared by several soldiers, Al and Frank Sinatra's character Marco. Al decides to do something new: contact Shaw and find out if the nightmare really happened. The birth of something new.

60: Sinatra with Shaw. Shaw knows about the nightmare, Sinatra finds out Al told Shaw. Sinatra wants to know about Al's letter. Sinatra goes to Washington DC and looks at photos. He identifies two people. Al in Alaska identified the same two men. There's no going back now.
-45: Shaw's mother (Angela Lansbury never looked so evil) doesn't want her Senator husband to think. Angela begins to establish control over Shaw: she invites him to a ball and Shaw attends because Senator Jordan and Jocelyn, his daughter will attend. Discovery.
-25: Frank Sinatra gets a call from Shaw, who sits across from the political convention. Tense and turbulent Shaw reveals that he's had nightmares. We're getting the sense that he's realizing he's being manipulated and has committed murder. We learn that the Vice Presidency has gone to Angela's husband, Senator Iselin. Eventually, Shaw will kill his mother and the Senator because they were involved in his previous murders and mind control. Shaw takes his own life. The final turning point.
