My grandfather William Fritzsche worked on The Wizard of Oz as a Technicolor color consultant. No one believed my grandfather when he said Dorothy could open the door in black and white and walk into the Technicolor land of Oz in the same shot. He nearly got fired for making his point, but the shot worked thanks to his stubbornness.
25: A few minutes after landing in Oz, Dorothy sits in a carriage as the munchkins celebrate something that just happened: the death of the witch. The birth of something new.
45: Dorothy asks the Tin Man to join her and the Scarecrow as they head toward Emerald City and the great and powerful Oz. The wicked witch shows up on a roof, threatens them, and throws a ball of fire at the Scarecrow. Now that I'm aware.
60 and -45: They're in Emerald City. Led by a horse of a different color, Dorothy is in another carriage, this time with her friends and Frank Morgan is driving. They enter the wash and brush up company and prepare for some challenges ahead. There's no turning back now and Discovery.
-25: Dorothy's dog Toto is taken away, the wicked witch demands Dorothy's red slippers. The witch can't touch the shoes as long as Dorothy lives. Toto escapes and jumps across the drawbridge. The witch flips the sands of time, Dorothy cries. Eventually, Toto (symbolizing instinct), will help Dorothy escape and get back to Kansas. The final turning point.
