Young Frankenstein

One of my favorites. Great lines and performances, especially: "My name is Frankenstein!" Kenneth Mars' arm jokes, "Frau Blucher!" Gene Hackman and Peter Boyle's soup joke, and "Sweet mystery of life at last I've found thee."

25: Dr. Frankenstein hears music coming from behind ze bookcase. Inga and Dr. Frankenstein find a candle and we enjoy "Put the candle back" moments. They walk down the passageway, find Igor, and soon find the lab where Dr. Frankenstein makes it all happen. The birth of something new.

45: "Get ready, get set, go!" Dr. Frankenstein is high above the lab standing above The Monster trying to reanimate life. He asks Igor to throw the 2nd and 3rd switch. "Give my creation life!" The face of The Monster glows. Dr. Frankenstein asks for everything to be turned off and they bring him back down. No movement from The Monster makes them all believe they failed. Now that I'm aware.

60 and -45: Dr. Frankenstein and Inspector Kemp throw darts. Kemp is sabotaging the doctor's throws. Dr. Frankenstein pretends he expressed the "Hmmm!" and tells Kemp he has no interest in carrying on with his grandfather's work. Kemp leaves, we see the darts have hit Kemp's associate and ruined his tires. Frau Brucher sets The Monster free and he discovers interesting people, including the Blind Man. There's no going back now and Discovery.

-25: Dr. Frankenstein and The Monster perform in front of an audience. The Monster displays an ability to sing and dance to Puttin' On The Ritz. Exploding lights frighten The Monster and he runs off. Eventually Dr. Frankenstein improves The Monster's ability to communicate and all is resolved in a funny and thoughtful way. The final turning point.
