When I lived on Wilshire Blvd. in Los Angeles I lived on the same block where Marilyn Monroe was buried. Someone always placed fresh flowers with a red rose beside her. Seeing this movie you understand why people won't forget her. There are a number of stars buried at this tiny cemetary: http://www.seeing-stars.com/Buried2/PierceBros.shtml
25: He's invited Marilyn Monroe to join him for a drink at his place. He's smoking, he drinks some alcohol, he plays Rachmaninoff and fantasizes for the first time with Marilyn. The birth of something new.
45: They drink champagne and she becomes aware he's married. She's glad he's married because "...it can never get drastic." She wonders why guys always ask her to marry. Now that I'm aware.
60 and -45: He speaks with a psychiatrist who says he's in serious trouble because he has the seven year itch and the tendency is to scratch. His advice is to not attempt to seduce her. There's no going back now and Discovery.
-25: He: "There are no accidents." She talks about how to keep cool. He talks about love as he suggestively squirts a couple streams of soda into a glass. He says "we're all savages." She says she wants to "stay with you tonight. I'd like to sleep here." She stays, but at the end of the movie he's running back to his wife with flowers in his hand. The final turning point.
